In the beginning of February we were happy to have Dr Malik teach the class.  He started by teaching us how to recognize word roots, prefixes, and suffixes used in the medical language today. We learnt how to combine words to create meaningful medical conditions as well as comprehend their definition and know the correct spelling.  He handed us several exercises that helped test us on the first few chapters of the book.

Also, we covered two very important body systems: Cardiovascular and Respiratory systems. We learnt medical terms related to these two systems, their structures and functions as well. This knowledge was very beneficial especially when we started learning about the cardiovascular system in Physiology. It made it easier for us to understand the basics of the cardiovascular system. We were regularly provided with studying games, puzzles and take home assignments which helped facilitate our understanding and made the class interesting.
